Regular table salt nowadays is industrialized to the point where it contains mainly sodium chloride, which over a lifetime could result in fluid (and toxin) retention, as well as high blood pressure.

The ancient rishis of India who cognized Ayurveda described a white Himalayan salt which contains both soma and agni, cooling lunar energy, along with the heating sun energy.

My teacher and mentor, Vaidya Rama Kant Mishra quoted directly from the Charak Samhita, the definitive text on Ayurveda, describing how the Soma Lavan, or Soma Salt was the best of the eight types of salt which are found in the Himalayan Mountains.

It has very sodium chloride in it — most table salt contains over 95% sodium chloride. It also contains magnesium, calcium and potassium, all of which give it its cooling qualities and resultant health benefits.

In these modern times, the liver is already overheated due to improper diet and excessive use of pharmaceuticals, so it is important for us to know about the white Himalayan salt, which is far superior to its pink counterpart, which is the main Himalayan salt used in the United States and many other countries. Vaidya Mishra went out of his way to source this somagenic white Himalayan salt to help round out the healing protocols for all of our patients.
