Step-by-Step Recipe: String Beans with Tofu & Pork

Ingredients:

1 lb string beans, trimmed
200g tofu, cubed
200g pork, sliced into thin strips
2 tbsp cooking oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
2 tomatoes, sliced
1/2 tsp ground pepper
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 glass of water
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 pork cube
Instructions:

1. Prepare the Tofu:

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Add the cubed tofu to the pan and cook until golden brown on one side.
Flip the tofu cubes and cook until the other side is golden brown as well.
Once done, remove the tofu from the pan and set aside on a plate.

2. Sauté the Aromatics:

In a separate pan, heat the remaining tablespoon of oil over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
Add chopped onions and stir until they become translucent.

3. Cook the Tomatoes:

Add the sliced tomatoes to the pan and stir them in with the garlic and onions.
Cook until the tomatoes are soft and starting to break down.

4. Cook the Pork:

Add the sliced pork to the pan, stirring to coat it in the tomato, garlic, and onion mixture.
Cover the pan and let the pork cook for a few minutes until it turns golden brown.

5. Add Seasonings:

Sprinkle ground pepper over the pork and pour in the soy sauce.
Stir everything together, making sure the pork is evenly coated.
Cover the pan and let it simmer for a few minutes.

6. Add the String Beans:

Add the trimmed string beans to the pan and stir them in well.
Cover the pan again and let the beans cook on medium heat until they are tender but still crisp.

7. Build the Sauce:

Pour in a glass of water and stir to combine.
Add the oyster sauce, stirring well to mix everything together.
Cover the pan and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

8. Final Touches:

Crumble the pork cube into the pan and stir until fully dissolved.
Add the cooked tofu back into the pan, mixing gently to combine with the other ingredients.
Let the dish cook on low heat for a few more minutes to allow the flavors to blend.

9. Serve and Enjoy:

Once everything is cooked through and well-mixed, your String Beans with Tofu & Pork is ready to serve!
Enjoy this delicious dish over steamed rice for a complete and satisfying meal.
