Ingredients:

1 1/2 Pounds Apples (About 5)
Lemon Juice From 1/2 Lemon
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
3 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
15 Tbs. Butter ( Room Temp )
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
3 Tbs. Whole Milk
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
3 Tbs. Apricot Jam

Directions:

Preheat Oven 350 Degrees F.

Butter a 10 inch springform pan and set aside.
Peel and core apples and slice fairly thin.
Place sliced apples in a large bowl and sprinkle with the fresh lemon juice.
In a separate small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt, set aside.
In a separate large bow, beat, butter, sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until creamy and pale.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly before adding the next egg.
After all eggs are thoroughly combined, use a wooden spoon to mix in dry ingredients.
Before adding sliced apples to the mixture, pour off any juice, and pick out 10-15 nice apple slices for decorating the top of the cake.
Carefully stir the sliced apples into the batter, then spoon into your greased pan.
Press mixture into crevices of pan, then smooth the top.
Use reserved apple slices to create rosette on top by slightly pressing apples into batter.
Place pan in middle rack of oven and bake approx, 50 minutes until toothpick check comes out clean.
Take cake out of oven and while still hot, brush top with apricot jam.
Let cake cool 20 mins in pan, then remove to cool completely.

Powdered sugar can be used instead of the jam or leave it plain..
To serve the cake there are several options:
Creme Anglaise
German Vanilla Sauce
Caramel Sauce
Whipped Cream
Vanilla Ice Cream or
Melted Vanilla Ice Cream!

Store cake in an airtight container or ziploc,

ENJOY
