VLOG 36

High above Saas-Fee at an altitude of 3,500 m lies the entrance to the heart of the Fee Glacier. The Ice Pavilion was completely revamped in spring 2016. Visitors to the ice grotto can now experience an avalanche simulation with lighting effects and a shock wave that reverberates through their entire body. A 70-meter long tunnel leads into the thousands of years-old ice of the amazing glacier - to what is most probably the world's largest ice pavilion. The over 5,500 cubic meters large grotto, located at the Mittelallalin stop of Metro Alpin, the subterranean Alpine train at an altitude of 3,456 meters above sea level, offers an in-depth view of the interior of the glacier. Various ice sculptures, alternating exhibitions, and events make the ice grotto a real place of adventure.

Then we went to the Feeblitz bobsleigh run. A steep lift takes you up to one of the highest roller-coasters in the Alps – a fun park that blends in beautifully with the countryside and promises fun and excitement for the whole family. Take a deep breath and off you go! Just after setting off, you will find yourself literally going in circles. At 9 m high, Switzerland’s only 360-degree loop will give you your first kick – to be followed by others like it when the bob hurtles into the notorious "jump bends". The 900-m-long run ends with three crazy jumps.
