Introducing the piece as a poem “having to do with the two kinds of women that there are: older ones, and younger ones," Judy Grahn concludes her reading at the San Francisco Museum of Art on October 2, 1974, with “A Plainsong from an Older Woman to a Younger Woman," a poem that focuses on "feminine rhymes," before leaving the stage. Grahn shares the evening, and the recording, with Diane Wakoski, on this program organized by The Poetry Center, San Francisco State University. Poetry Center director Kathleen Fraser provides the introductions to the poets on the full-program video.
