Calm Your Nerves: How to Make a Potent Chamomile Infusion

In this video, I explore the health supportive gifts of chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), and share with you how to prepare a simple, yet, powerful preparation with these, well known, sweet-smelling blossoms.

Chamomile Gifts
Chamomile is powerful, yet gentle—often used for babies and children. It offers many gifts, from reducing inflammation to helping with colds and flus. And it really shines as a calming herbal ally. I love it for addressing restlessness, agitation, belly anxiety, menstrual cramping and sleep support.

Compounding with Chamomile
Drinking chamomile infusion straight, as a simple, is effective and wonderful. Still, we can also combine it with other herbs, which is called compounding. For menstrual cramping, we can add cramp bark and ginger. For sleep support, it’s nice to combine it with skullcap and / or passionflower. And for general calming, adding lemon balm and a tiny pinch of licorice is lovely.

Chamomile is a pretty common herb. Perhaps it is tucked inside your cupboard right now. You can definitely find it at your local herb shop or grocery store. And of course growing your own is the best, so, if you are able, I encourage you to cultivate a patch this year.

Wishing you calm, chamomile-style.
