In this Steve's Garage video I replace the turbo oil drain line or turbo oil return line on a MK4 VW 1.8t. This may be helpful when working on 1.8t engines in other Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, or SEAT models, but I don't have experience with those cars, so I can't say for certain.

This is a fairly easy job to knock out if you don't mind getting under the car. If you're experiencing an oil leak on the bottom side of your turbo, the upper gasket could be the culprit! On cars that see snow/salt, the lower gasket and braided line itself will absolutely start to corrode. It should be replaced as preventative maintenance because the tube failing will leave you stranded.

Please double check part numbers and tool sizes! This car has a K03 turbo with a standard aluminum oil pan. Cars with different turbos and different oil pans will need a different line, but the removal and installation procedure will be the same.

As always, I assume no responsibility should you mess up your car doing following this video. Have fun, be safe, thanks for watching!
