Our Entertainment Editor spoke to director Karen Chapman to learn more about the creation of Village Keeper, working with the music composer to find the perfect sound, following three generations of women and more.

The film stars Oluniké Adeliyi as Jean, a Black Canadian widow living in the Lawrence Heights community of Toronto, where she tries to protect her children Tamika (Zahra Bentham) and Tristin (Micah Mensah-Jatoe) from neighbourhood violence.
