I tried flying from Kertajati Int'l Airport (KJT), a.k.a BIJB (Bandar Udara Internasional Jawa Barat) for the first time on 26 January 2024, on board AirAsia Indonesia QZ751 to Denpasar, operated with the Airbus A320 (PK-AZF).

The airport was considerably more spacious compared to the older airport in Bandung (BDO). However, for Bandung residents, I feel the access to get to the airport is yet to be optimized and rather unreasonable. With only toll-road access, most people will have to drive or take the bus, which still takes over 1.5 hours. I totally understand why the public's preference may still lean towards flying from Jakarta's CGK airport, with more abundant flight options.

Truly hope that there will be initiatives to build a more accessible infrastructure to reach the airport from Bandung & other cities in the region.

Other than that, it was a cool experience to try flying from KJT. Was a bit surreal on how quiet the airfield was 😁
