I Musei Vaticani ritrovano nei loro ricchi depositi “La Malaria”: un capolavoro pittorico di fine’800 della pittrice romana Maria Martinetti Stiavelli (1864-1937), che dal 20 settembre 2024 potrà essere ammirato anche dal grande pubblico presso il Polo Museale di Castel Gandolfo, all’indomani di un attento restauro eseguito presso il Laboratorio di Restauro Dipinti e Materiali lignei.
Promosso congiuntamente dalla Direzione dei Musei e dei Beni Culturali e dalla Direzione delle Ville Pontificie, il progetto espositivo è curato da Micol Forti, Responsabile del Reparto Arte Ottocento e Contemporanea dei Musei Vaticani, mentre l’intero intervento conservativo è stato sostenuto dalla generosità dei Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, Capitolo del Canada.

The Vatican Museums rediscover in their rich repositories “Malaria”: a pictorial masterpiece from the late 1800s made by the Roman painter Maria Martinetti Stiavelli (1864-1937), which from 20 September 2024 may also be admired by the general public at the Castel Gandolfo Museum Complex, following careful restoration carried out by the Painting and Wood Materials Restoration Laboratory.
Jointly organized by the Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage and by the Directorate of the Pontifical Villas, the exhibition project is curated by Micol Forti, Director of the Vatican Museums Department of XIX Century and Contemporary Art, while the entire restoration intervention was supported by the generosity of the Patrons of the Arts in the Vatican Museums, Canada Chapter.
