On World Press Freedom Day, hear Peruvian journalist Paola Ugaz talk about standing trial for speaking out about misogynistic responses to her reporting, and how our work contributed to her acquittal.

The head of the same website who had accused Ugaz defamation has also sought to implicate her in multiple other cases. His website even alleged that she was involved in Uranium and Plutonium trafficking.

Ugaz, like many journalists around the world, continues to face enormous risks because of her reporting. One of the investigations against her remains ongoing in Peru.
