Guangzhou Opera House was designed by Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid(1950-2016)🌹 It is conceived as two pebbles washed away by the Pearl River💎💎🌟🌟 Its freestanding concrete auditorium set within an exposed granite and glass-clad steel frame took over five years to build, and was praised upon opening by architectural critic Jonathan Glancey in The Guardian, who called it "at once highly theatrical and insistently subtle."

The theatre has become the biggest performing centre in southern China and is one of the three biggest theatres in the nation. The project cost 1.38 billion yuan (approx. US$200 million), it opened on 9 May in 2010.

The theater consists of two main parts: the Grand Theatre and the Multi-functional Theatre. The total land area is 42,393 square meters, and the total construction area is 71,197 square meters. The Grand Theatre covers 36,400 square meters, the Multi-functional Theatre covers 7,400 square meters, and other auxiliary facilities cover 26,100 square meters.

The Grand Theatre (Big Pebble) has 7 floors above ground, 1 floor underground, partially 4 floors, with a ceiling height ranging from 4.5 to 6 meters. The building is 43.4 meters high, including a 1,800-seat Grand Theatre and supporting facilities such as backup rooms, rehearsal rooms, performance rooms, administrative offices, recording studios, and art exhibition halls.

The Multi-functional Theatre (Small Pebble) has 4 floors above ground, 1 floor underground, with a ceiling height of 5 meters. The building is 22.7 meters high, including a 400-seat Multi-functional Theatre and a supporting restaurant.
