This Psalm contains a prayer concerning eternal vengeance, Psa_6:1;
• a petition to God for mercy, Psa_6:2.
• This is enforced from a consideration of the psalmist’s sufferings, Psa_6:3. He is torn up over his constant battle with sin. Much like Paul in Romans 7.
• from that of the Divine mercy, Psa_6:4; temporally and eternally – temporally – clean up set me on the right path.
Psa_27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
Psa_69:29 But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.
Psa_118:5 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.
• from that of the praise and glory which God would fail to receive if man were destroyed, Psa_6:5; Ecc 9:10
• from that of his humiliation and contrition, Psa_6:6, Psa_6:7.
• Being successful in his supplication, he exults in God, Psa_6:8, Psa_6:9; and
• predicts the downfall of all his enemies, Psa_6:10.
