Niacin (Vitamin B3) is decarboxylated into pyridine (which fuccing reeks) using a copper chromite catalyst. First we make the copper chromite catalyst from waste chromic acid waste I somehow generated in the past, then we do the decarboxylation distillation, chemically clean up the pyridine and then re-distil. Nothing too complicated, and I don't throw up, so it was a win for all, especially people who like doing chemistry in the middle of the night.

It is the post near the bottom, labelled "Improved Preparation of Pyridine" by UnintentionalChaos, a true credit to him, fantastic writeup.
