Since 1570, Strasbourg has been hosting traditional Christmas fairs and they have been part of the centuries-old history of this beautiful city. The atmosphere of this magical holiday spreads throughout Europe.

The description of the first Christmas market was found in historical chronicles at the end of the 12th century in Strasbourg. Long before 1570, around 6 December, the market of St. Nicholas, Klausenmärik, was held.

In the central square of Kleber, the thirty-metre Christmas tree changes the style of its decorations every year.

What's going on in the heart of the city? The Christmas market near the city's beautiful Gothic cathedral is bursting with a variety of goods: here you can find original handmade products made of wood, glass, a whole kaleidoscope of Christmas toys, decorations, costumes; every second stall sells warming mulled wine, coffee, hot chocolate, gingerbread bread, sweet waffles and doughnuts.
