On May 20, 2023, Devin Haney defended his undisputed lightweight titles in a highly anticipated bout against Vasiliy Lomachenko at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Haney used his sharp jab, body shots, and ring generalship to edge out the veteran Lomachenko in a competitive and tactical fight.

Lomachenko had success in the later rounds, pushing Haney to his limits, but after 12 rounds, Haney secured an extremely controversial unanimous decision victory, solidifying his status as the top fighter in the lightweight division.

In my opinion I do believe the fight was either a draw or a Lomachenko win.
