WE HIKED FROM JUTA TO ROSHKA IN SEPTEMBER 2022

We set off from Stepantsminda in a taxi to the little village of Juta to stay at the wonderful Zeta Camping. As we didn't want to carry our camping gear for the whole holiday, we booked out a private room with the most wonderfully hot shower! We stayed the night drinking wine and reading our books while taking in the amazing views around Juta.
The next day we set off at around 7am to start the hike. The ground was just a little frosty as the winter was on the way but once the sun has risen over the mountains, we warmed up! The hike was hard up to the Chaukhi Pass due to the loose stones and altitude so I would maybe recommend some walking poles for this one.
The views at the top were mind-blowing, but it was also very cold so much so that we didn't take quite enough footage as we took it all in! The walk down to the lakes from the top of the pass was very hard on the knees and a bit boring but the views were still amazing. Once we had lunch at the bottom, we perked right up and cheerfully walked to Roshka! We loved this hike and feel extremely lucky for the opportunity to walk it!
