This video is partly of interest to philosophy buffs, and partly of interest to lay audiences. On the one hand, we are here given an example of the Aufhebung (transcendence, sublation, or synthesis) concept of Hegel, in the form of his hero and valet proverb. On the other, we are given an approach towards the twin demands of history- to find a personally or culturally important meaning in it all, and to find the genuine causes of the way things are.
