It seems to be a trend on this channel that we talk about the first locomotives of a modernisation plan, but they're actually not any good so they end up as scrap somewhere between the mid 70s to late 80s. And the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) Class 1000 is no exception. A design that dates all the way back from 1925, how did these "Java Bogies" fair between their introduction and their ultimate demise?
