Fun fact: I'm a HUGE fan of Doctor Who. I've been a fan of this show since I was a very small child, and my experience with it has been an integral part of who I am today. Hell the first video on this channel was a Doctor Who shitpost!

So while I was listening to "No Longer You" from Epic: the musical, I couldn't help but think back to Ten's perspective on regeneration during the end of time. How if he regenerates, everything he was dies, and some new man goes sauntering away.

He does get to make it home alive, but he's no longer him....

Now some people might say that this is contradicting what the show says later on about regeneration ("same software, different case"). But I see it as his own personal perspective on the matter at that point in his life. And perspectives change over time.

During Eleven's regeneration, he gives a very different yet perfectly compatible perspective on regeneration. He sees that he's always changing, with every second of his life and every experience he has. He becomes a different person every day. This is why he's ok with regeneration. Because as long as you remember the people you used to be, they're never really gone.
