Driving our 1985 HJ75 Toyota Land Cruiser Troop Carrier overland through the Colorado Rocky Mountains is something we have been dreaming of since the start of our trip. What we weren't expecting was to have our stuff stolen at a coffee shop in Leadville when we stopped off to grab a drink before embarking on a local hike. Post-theft meltdown, we attempt to summit Dyer Mountain only to be turned around early due to afternoon thunderstorms. Apparently we couldn't catch a break this day. Join us next week after this somewhat tumultuous start to our time in Colorado to see our favorite camp spots in the Western intermountain area.

How did we get here?
We're Cody and Olivia, an American couple from Oregon, who found a love for 4x4 driving and camping after we purchased a 3rd gen Toyota 4Runner. After exploring much of the American west in our 4Runner, we found our dream overland rig, a 1985 HJ75 Toyota Landcruiser Troopy, in Bend, Oregon. We plunged head first into fixing up and building out the Troopy with a lot of misadventures along the way. Finally in 2022, we realized we had an opportunity to live our dream of full-time overland travel. We quit our jobs, sold our house and all of our belongings, and set out on the road trip of a lifetime following the Pan-American Highway south to Ushuaia, Argentina.
