The Baofeng UV3R ham radio transceiver was a significant disruptor in the amateur radio market. But did it do us ALL a favour? The UV3r was similar in some ways to Yaesu's VX3r. However, the UV3r used an SDR format to act as a significant market disruptor - one that Yaesu, ICOM and Kenwood could not ignore.
