This is a short chronology of the collaboration between singer/songwriter Angelina Jordan, and songwriter/producer Toby Gad, leading up to the worldwide debut of 2 songs, performed by them, at the Hotel Café in Los Angeles, California, on May 16, 2024:

1) If I Were a Boy, originally co-written by Toby, and popularized by Beyonce. This arrangement / re-interpretation by Toby was part of his Piano Diaries I project, with the single released on May 31, 2024.

2) Bad Valentine, co-written by Angelina, Toby, and Charlotte Jane.

This event feels like it could be historic, in the sense that Bad Valentine may well be Angelina’s breakthrough hit.

The only Angels (Angelina Jordan fans) of which I’m aware that were watching the Hotel Café livestream that evening, in real time, as Angelina performed these two songs were: Bernie Scott, Douglas Switzer, Ken Gehl and Steve Ackerman.

My first impression: ANGELINA BLEW THE ROOF OFF THE PLACE! 😊
