This layer cake pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop is free! Not only is it free it makes use of those wonderful pre cuts that we all have lying around our sewing rooms. I am sure you have a layer cake sitting around somewhere. You can also use a jelly roll or you can cut 2 1/2" strips. This pattern is quick and the arrangement of the blocks is totally up to you. Or to chance which is the way I used it. Using a layer cake allows you to showcase a collection without having to buy yardage which I love! I don't have to choose which designs I want - I get them all! I love getting it all!
