This year's Langdale Horseshoe Fell Race, which took place yesterday Saturday 7th October 2023.

The weather was a bit grim with lots of clag causing no end of navigational calamity and shenanigens.

I got seriously turned around looking for the Crinkle Crags check point and only found it through intuition and luck.

Quite a few DNFs. A number of those being runners giving up their race to help others in trouble.

Initially it was touch and go whether the race would go ahead due to the weather and the loss of the car park. However, the tenacity of the RO Dan Duxbury and all the Ambleside AC marshals and helpers made this a fell race to remember.
