A show played on Jon's 49th birthday and the energy went through the roof! He clearly was in the mood and determined to put on a stunner of a show and they all delivered - no matter if it was his energy, vocal delivery or the whole band playing as tight as it gets - this turned into a great and long rock show! Especially Richie's amazing bluesy solo on Diamond Ring has been my favourite ever since the concert took place, but the rest wasn't too bad either :D
The multicam of the performance hasn't been around to the best of my knowledge, only the single-cam version. It appeared shortly after the concert and features some more original footage, but also a bit of YT stuff. Back then, it got mixed rather dark, probably to hide some of the pixilation in a few spots where lower quality material got used. I decided to rapidly lift that, especially in terms to counteract that problem on the main source. Some other angles look either "experimental" or show a bit of their pixilation because of that, but I'd rather look at some muddy details than watching a dark picture half of the time. I didn't do the mix, so if spots are off sync (haven't really noticed any though), I'm not to blame for once :D
Furhermore, I took the original audio source and redubbed it because that gave me the chance to have more frequencies to work on rather than using the compressed DVD sound. The advantage of a newly added Plugin is that I can get to more sound depth, the problem is that the combinations have gotten more complex since effects cut in on each other from time to time. This recording certainly had a bit of hard limiting applied to Jon's vocals (to bring them more upfront) in the original version which has the downside that every attempt at remastering usually throws harsh "s" and cymbal sounds in your face (or ear). It took me a couple of attempts, but I think it worked out nicely in the end :)
