Our overnight stay at Balule Satellite Camp in the Kruger National Park was a delightful and immersive experience. Nestled within the heart of the wilderness, the camp provided a unique and rustic atmosphere and accommodation in a rondavel with no electricity, fostering a true connection with nature. Sharing a communal kitchen and freezers added to the social and special spirit of the place. The evening was highlighted by a braai featuring mouthwatering wildebeest hamburger patties, enjoyed around a crackling fire while the haunting calls of hyena filled the air. The wildlife encounters were awe-inspiring, ranging from majestic elephants with huge tusks and various antelope species to witnessing hyena with their young and even a beautiful sighting of lions.
