Today was another great December day speckled trout fishing around the Intercoastal Waterway and the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet channel.

It was also a perfect example of speckled trout movement when conditions change. A week before this trip, I found most of my fish on the inside of the Great Wall and in the ICWW. I didn't find trout in the MRGO outside of the Wall. Today, the trout were stacked up along the rock in the MRGO outside of the Wall and very little action on the inside.

The major change between those trips that I could identify was heavy rainfall that decreased the salinity by about 50%. This didn't move all the trout outside but it seemed like a good number of the trout did move.

I was able to capture and release another 20 inch + speckled trout and enter it into the Release Over 20 database. The entry form can be found at this link: https://releaseover20.org
