This is THE place to go for an unforgettable experience diving or snorkeling yhr famous SARDINE run of Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines.

What you find there is a cute semi tourist town built around the natural spectacle of Sardine run and nice diving spots.

It takes only a few hours drive to get here from Cebu. Accommodations are varied from cheap to semi-pricy. The town has good amount of local and western and asian food, shops, and bars. The vibe is rather chill, maybe not quite like Siargao but definitely not like Puerto Galera hustle and bustle.

Typical dive starts with a few minute boat ride and you join in with the snorklers. The advantage of diving vs. snorkling is easy to see as you get to swim with and in middle of sardines vs. just a quick glance from above. One or two dives is enough for this, but other sites in the area offer various dive options that you can spend a few days in the area.

In terms of ranking, I would put Moalboal in the top 5 in terms of easy to see a natural wonder and nice town and easy to get to.

Below is my ranking if you want super clarity, off the beaten path, great marine life and variety of dive sites:
1 - Leyte
2 - Camiguin
3 - Verde Island
4 - Panglao
5 - Puerto Galera
6 - Palawan areas (El Nido and Coron)
7 - Cebu area (Moalboal, Oslob, Malapasqua)
8 - Siquijor
9 - all others

Nice thing about it is that even the non-divers of the group can enjoy snorkeling with the sardines and other cool sites.

I will create a comprehensive Philippines dive guide soon, but you can checkout some of the previous videos to get a taste of these other sites.

Thanks.
