Taraw Cliff is a karst limestone cliff overlooking the tourist hotspot town of El Nido on the north of Palawan in the Philippines.

This climb is not an officially sanctioned tourist activity and is done so at your own risk. However, there are people climbing most days of the year. The climb is done at sunrise to avoid heat and also the eyes of others.

To climb Taraw cliff will take you between 50 minutes and 1 hour 10 depending on your fitness, you leave very early in the morning to ensure even slower climbers can make it up for the sunrise.

This is physically demanding due to high humidity and can be tiring on the legs, drink lots of water before setting off and carry 2 litres with you to be safe. I managed to do it with 8kgs of camera gear and water so I am sure you can do it with just your phone and water.
