When Madonna's "Vogue" exploded onto the music scene and into popular culture, MTV held a contest to see who could strike the best poses. And I was all in. Didn't win - probably because part of my video went off sync and we fixed it by interspersing flashes from Madonna's own video to get things to time out. Oops.

I never ended up with a copy of my own video, though, for some reason. But it turned out a friend still had the original VHS-C (!) tapes, so I was able to reconstruct it for "Vogue"'s 30th anniversary. It's amateur, it's cringeworthy, and as a freshly-out 20-year-old, it's super flaming - but it's also a lot of fun and there's even a little message of empowerment in there. So strike a pose all over again and relive how "Vogue" took over the world in 1990! (Did I say anything about that permed mullet I had? Yow!)
