Please join us on Tuesday, January 23 at 2pm EST for a conversation with Joel Anderson, staff writer for Slate and host of the podcast Slow Burn: Becoming Justice Thomas. In Slow Burn’s eighth season, Joel does a deep dive into Justice Thomas—from his roots in Georgia to his time as a college campus radical to his professional endeavors leading up to his time at the Supreme Court. Joel rounds out his reporting with several insightful interviews, including with Justice Thomas’s mother. Alliance for Justice President Rakim H.D. Brooks will join Joel Anderson for a conversation on Justice Thomas and what Joel learned through his reporting.

For over three decades, Justice Clarence Thomas has had a huge influence on the daily lives of Americans and a has been a driving force in shaping the direction of American law. Justice Thomas went from a small town in Georgia to the nation’s highest court, where his conservative judicial philosophy has had a significant impact on many landmark cases, including Citizens United, Dobbs, and Students for Fair Admission v. Harvard.

Throughout the last several months, there has been bombshell reporting revealing Justice Thomas’s connections to billionaires, including Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo. Justice Thomas has received lavish vacations aboard yachts and private jets, which were not disclosed. All of this is occurring in conjunction with polling that shows confidence in the current Supreme Court is at an all-time low.

StreamYard webinars do not have automatic captioning, but the event will be streamed on YouTube (   / alliance4justice  ) and Facebook (facebook.com/AllianceforJustice), both of which have captions. The event will be recorded.
