As DJs, we are the first to buy protective bags and cases for our gear, but we often neglect to safeguard the most important piece of equipment that we have: our hearing.

I wanted to share my experience of getting silicone molds done at Quality Hearing Aid Center in Brookfield, CT for my Ultimate Ears Pro. I had no idea what to expect and they were nothing short of amazing. Frank, the audiologist, is tremendously passionate and took the time to chat with me about hearing loss and why things like monitors are so important for those of us who get exposed to loud sound week after week. He also was extremely comfortable around ear wax. Good dude. 💯

I saw this as a tremendous learning experience and wanted to share my visit so that maybe a few of you will decide to do something NOW to protect your hearing. If you’ve been at this a while get your hearing tested and consider getting some IEM to ensure your can do this job for years to come. You still have time. Frank said so.
