Let’s move on to what happened in Green Bay yesterday…where the Packers *DEFENSE* was the story in their massive comeback win over the Texans.

Things were chippy pregame between Jaire Alexander, Keisean Nixon, and Stefon Diggs…it continued into the game as Jaire and CJ Stroud got into it a few times…but ultimately the Packers secondary completely grounded this Texans passing attack and overcame 3 turnovers from the offense to get the win. Here’s Matt LaFleur handing out a game ball to DC Jeff Hafley after the game…

They held CJ to a career-low 86 yards…sacked him 4 times…and it resulted in the 2nd worst passer rating of Stroud’s young career. Joe Mixon did some damage…but it was clear the gameplan was to make sure that Stroud didn’t beat them and they clearly accomplished that. Overall, they held Houston to just 3 points after halftime…and they haven’t allowed a 2nd half touchdown in over a month now. This was a masterpiece.

I also have to give Jordan Love his credit for that game-winning drive. It wasn’t smooth sailing for him…he had those 2 picks early on…but he cleaned things up as the game went and came up huge when it mattered the most.

And with that win and the Vikings loss…things are really tightening up in the NFC North…

The Lions have taken over 1st place after dropping those Vikings – they’re the favorites to win the division at +120. The Packers are just a half game back of both Detroit and Minnesota. And the Bears are just one game back of 1st as well. The top 3 are all getting minus odds to make the playoffs right now…Chicago is the only one NOT favored to make a postseason appearance – they’re still +198 to get in over on FanDuel Sportsbook.
