Why does it seem that my hydraulic brake doesn’t bite as well after a period of use? There are several reasons including brake pads being worn out or air bubbles leaking into the hydraulic hose. Or, the third reason could be that your mineral oil is leaking out. For the second and third reasons above, you will have to rebleed the brake hose on your hydraulic brakes.

Most quality brake systems use mineral oil as their braking fluid so you will need a small bottle of that. Shimano mineral oil is the most popular and trusted brand.

You will also need a bleeding kit consisting of valves, syringes and brake block.

With those ready, you can follow this tutorial and start giving your scooter the same braking power like before.
