Slavoj Zizek approaches the push towards meaning in his #analysis of the fight for #transgender and #LGBTQ+ rights. Zizek looks at the #paradox that is the super ego’s gender identity presented by Freud through the guise of a Freudian approach to psychology.

Zizek talks about ecology and the potential of an impending catastrophe and what that actually manifests itself as in our everyday interaction. Since our actions provide a guide rail for our belief, he suggests volunteerism without expectation of a return as a start, and that should follow with the total denunciation of the idea of a deeper meaning in the ecological problems presented by nature.

“There will be [ecological] disasters - but the worst thing possible would be to read these [ecological] catastrophes as having a deeper meaning.”, said Zizek.

He suggests there is no deeper meaning in these catastrophes from a sociological perspective and the only way to avoid the social consequences from an ecological catastrophe is to withdraw from the demystification that we separation from nature.
