Jim Luvdaine is at his wits end in this obscure 1960s vinyl surf rock record, restored via ai music magic.

A California state high school swimming champion, Jim was far more comfortable in the water than inside his car. Afraid that his sworn enemy Freddy (of Freddy and The Shore Trotters) was gaining the upper hand in their quest for the heart of their mutual muse Betty Dauphine, Luvdaine convinced a local studio to put his frustrations to tape. Luckily enough, a Capital Records exec happened to be in the building, immediately offering Jim a substantial advance – which he immediately used to buy a new GTO (receiving no trade-in value or compensation as Lemon Laws had not been established).

Jim would immediately put his new car to the test in an outrageous and short-sighted teen drag race vs. Freddy…an event documented in the 1966 song The Race For Betty’s Heart (Directly Into A Wall) off of The Shore Trotter’s album Engine Sounds.
