When I hiked Myokosan last year I knew I had to come back for the steam vent.

I see the steam almost every day from my place and have been thinking about it for a long while. I got busy and didn’t put time into getting up there but I finally made the time to go check it out.

There is little to no information about the area in both English and Japanese. Usually for places like this with volcanic activity, there is safety and warning information but this vent has nothing that I could find. There was only one way to find out.

The trail had no signs along the way either. I was finally able to get to a viewing point close enough to see this incredible place up close!

If you are looking for fun hike in the area this one is great. It can also be linked up with Myoko san for a full day.
