Coconut - 1/2 cup (mix 1/4 tsp turmeric)
Salt to taste (use less)
Oil for cooking

For the masala paste
Kashmiri chillies - 08
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander seeds - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp
Garlic - 6 cloves
Tamarind - a small ball
