Hi, this is Keishu, a Japanese calligrapher.

Today I write Hyakunin Isshu poem #27, 28 and 29 in kana calligraphy style.
Hyakunin-Isshu is the traditional Japanese collection of one hundred poems by one hundred poets.

恋しかるらむ (Koishi karuran)

When did you first spring into view?
Like the Field of Jars
divided by the River of Springs,
I am split in two - so deeply flows
the river of my love for you.

冬ぞさびしさ (Fuyu zo sabishisa)
まさりける (Masari keru)
人めも草も (Hitome mo kusa mo)
かれぬと思へば (Karenu to omoeba)

Thinking of visitors having disappeared
and leaves and grass having been withered,
I feel more lonely in a mountain village in winter.

I'm wondering if I could pick the white chrysanthemun by guesswork.
The first frost of the year has turned the view white,
so it is hard to tell them apart snow...
