Feed your rose plants generously with a balanced fertilizer to support repeat blooming all season long. In the ground, I prefer a base of organic fertilizer sources and amendments to improve the soil. I'll discuss conventional (chemical) fertilizers as well, and the reason some gardeners add additional phosphorus sources to their feeding program. For roses in containers, I prefer a controlled release (coated) fertilizer.
