A Qatar Airways Airbus A380-800, registration A7-APD performing flight QTR908 from Doha Hamad International Airport (OTHH) to Sydney Airport (YSSY) was cleared for the ILS approach runway 34L and then cleared for the visual approach runway 34L at Sydney Airport. After that they aircraft was instructed to contact Tower controller. Being on final the flight crew initiated go around at about 1000 feet because they were unstable. When they contacted Departure controller the pilot reported that they were unstable due to congestion in the communication and were never cleared for the approach.
