Village life in Nagaland, India
a mountainous region located north of Bangladesh
To some these people might look more Chinese than Indian.
Here there are many tribal dialects. This village uses the Ao dialect.
I had the honor to stay in their village for eight days in 2008. These are photos taken in the village from that trip. The music is mostly Naga tribal music. The first piece of music I recorded from an old woman in the village who has since died.
