The Boss GE-7 is a long selling staple in the Boss catalog, introduced in 1981 and while many minor changes have been made, has remained in production for over 40 years! Today we are comparing the GE-7 against its predecessor, the original compact EQ pedal, the Boss GE-6.

So, let's compare the tones of the GE-6 against the GE-7, which have a somewhat noticeable difference, and each it's own character. Then, let's look at each schematic and talk about the changes that were made to the circuit when they transitioned to the GE-7. I try not to get too technical, but it's difficult to talk about these things without skipping the circuit jargon!
