You are welcome to join me for another fascinating tour, this time exploring the history and beautiful artworks of the Alte Pinakothek Gallery in Munich.

Built in 1826, it is one of the oldest galleries in the world and was ahead of its time for its open window spaces and natural lighting, giving life to the artworks.

The original 'old' ('Alte') gallery focuses on paintings from the 14th to 18th centuries, but we'll also be exploring some artworks from the 19th and 20th centuries housed in their 'New' Pinakothek.

The old section has one of the most important collections of Early Italian, Old German, Old Dutch and Flemish paintings in the world. Some truly lovely treasures!
