The much-loved tape delay pedal gets an upgrade – is it better?

Welcome to the show! The Strymon El Capistan is one of the world’s most loved and widely used digital tape echo emulation pedals. Small in format but mighty in features, it was a game-changer when it was introduced in 2010.
The V2 update from 2022 introduced more powerful processing, functionality upgrades and MIDI… so we take this opportunity to compare new with old.
BUT this is That Pedal Show, so we’d better throw a genuine Roland RE-201 Space Echo into the mix alongside something far more affordable to boot.
