In today’s video, I’m diving into the story of a 2004 Honda CR-V Automatic that I picked up from Birmingham’s British Car Auctions (BCA). The car came with a green essential check, but I noticed something concerning, a check engine light was visible in the auction photos, though it wasn’t mentioned in the report.
Despite the 🚩flag, I decided to take a chance, assuming the issue might be something minor like spark plugs or leads. Unfortunately, I got burnt badly. The car ended up having a major mechanical issue, and it wasn’t directly related to the engine management light (EML).
📹 This video isn’t about placing blame on BCA, rather it’s a cautionary tale about the risks involved in buying older cars at auction. Sometimes, you end up with a lemon like this one, equally sometimes it’s better than expected. This is about how to protect yourself and what to watch out for when buying at auction!
