It's Japanese Anemone season here in the PNW. They are in their full glory. Our patch begins blooming early September and then as the weather cools down it bursts to life!

I have heard people say that they feel that it is invasive. I've decided this term is all about your perspective of what you want in your garden. I want big huge patches of the Japanese anemone to flourish, which makes it the most amazing partial shade plant because it will fill any space that you give it. If you're afraid that it is going to begin to take over a patch , some borders around it will help to keep it from spreading the tuber roots out.

There are many other varieties of the Japanese Anemone, we only have 2 and I'm thinking we might just need to add a few others. They're the most magical fall bloom. As you can see, they get pretty tall, so put them in the background of a bed so that they don't overwhelm anything shorter. These varieties grow well in zones
