Sad news — our beloved farm stand is being shut down. After running it since May, we received a cease and desist order from the Michigan Department of Agriculture. Apparently, our self-serve setup and some of our products, like concentrates and syrups, were not fully compliant with the state's cottage food laws. While we tried to follow the rules, a few things, like the requirement for face-to-face sales, caught us off guard. I believe in respecting the law, so for now, we’ve decided to close the farm stand while we figure out how to move forward. It’s frustrating, but I’m hopeful we’ll come back stronger next season after reevaluating how to run things in line with regulations. Thanks to everyone for your support and understanding—your encouragement means the world to me. Stay tuned as we figure out what’s next, and in the meantime, I'll still be sharing updates on the farm and kitchen projects!
