This a video that my wife Jillby made that I found and edited and put up for all of you that are fans of Esmeralda AKA Ezzy and of Jillby. It is a lovely video for the first time Jillby met and picked up this new adorable little puppy Chihuahua who would soon come to be known as Esmeralda! Really, if you are into Ezzy posts –you have to see her when she is brand new! The cuteness is unbearable! Jillby had got a brand new mini video digital tape camcorder and decided she was going to film the whole day practically! Lol! This tape WAS over an hour - I have edited it down to 19 minutes. There are several ‘parts’ of this.

Ezzy was a 3 month old rescue that her friend Karin who is a Vet Tech at the Golf Rose Animal Hospital had procured for her – so Jill didn’t pick her out of a group or anything. She was going to go meet her for the first time that day. So Jillby starts filming when she wakes up – the first thing you see is her alarm clock and her other Chihuahua Ruby who she is ‘telling’ all about the new puppy they are going to go get! So the first dog you see is Ruby and then in the car that too is Ruby on Jill’s lap – not Ezzy yet! The time is January 2005. Pay no attention to the original ‘time stamp’ visible on the tape which says June 2004. It is obviously winter. She had just gotten the camera I presume and hadn’t set the date yet. Later in the tape you’ll see Ezzy at home playing with Ruby in March of 2005 – that is correct.

So you’ll see the wake up. The car ride (seriously edited down!) the picking up of Karin, the arrival at the Vet’s and then they wait for Karin to bring out the new puppy. All of it narrated by a very funny Jillby’s voice. The things she says at the vet are very funny! At one point the camera is pointed at the floor while she is carrying Ezzy for the first time – I left that in because of the dialog. Oh she is with her then boyfriend James. James says “where did they find the puppy?” Another Vet tech says oh they think she came from Schaumburg. Jillby says “Oh I hear the very best Chihuahuas come from Schaumburg!” and so on.

Best viewed on a larger screen. First there is the wake up. Then the car ride. Then the vet’s and meet Ezzy! She is so cute but you can see it is her! She is three months old meeting her mom for the first time. Then Ezzy the puppy a few months later at home with Jillby and Ruby. Then a scene of Jillby and the two Chihuahuas Ruby and Ezzy running around out in her courtyard which is really good! Finally you’ll see a brief scene of Jillby out in her Neighborhood with Taco Bill, her third Chihuahua rescue who she found wondering through an alley as a stray. He was deformed and blind and he was an absolute angel.

When Jillby and I got together in December of 2008– she brought all three with her to me of course! Taco went to the Rainbow Bridge in February 2010 and Ruby in 2012. My wife Jillby passed away in May of 2106 and so now it is just me and Esmeralda left together. And this is how it all began 3 years before I met them almost 15 years ago. It is a very important historical picture in time of both Jill and her dogs and is very cute and funny!

If you just can’t stand it, it is 6 minutes and 20 seconds on the tape is the time that Ezzy makes her very first entrance but this whole piece is worth watching – I hope you like it - enjoy!
